In 2002, a success story began that has since become part of the island’s landscape. François de la Villethéart, a name many on Mallorca are familiar with, was quick to identify a gap in the market: vehicle registration for foreigners often involved unnecessary hassle. Complicated administrative procedures, language barriers and unclear responsibilities made an already bureaucratic process even more difficult.
With the goal of changing that, François founded MAS Service, a company in Mallorca specialising in professional vehicle registration for international clients. Thanks to his multilingual skills, experience and clear communication, mas service quickly became a go-to address on the island.
The next step followed naturally: anyone registering a vehicle also needs insurance. Together with his wife Tatjana Büdinger, François founded mas versicherungen, an independent, family-run exclusive agency of Zurich and DKV. What began as a complement to mas service soon developed into one of the most reputable insurance agencies in Spain. Multiple awards (2021, 2023, 2024) as the best Zurich agency in the country speak for themselves.

The team supports its clients from the very first conversation all the way through to claims handling: multilingual, efficient, and with a deep understanding of the needs of residents, expats and property owners.
In 2022, MAS Service was taken over and has since been led by Anett Kempcke. Having worked closely with François for many years, she was personally trained by him and knows every step of the process inside and out. Today, she leads mas service with great commitment and continues to grow her team. Her office remains in the same building as MAS Insurance in Son Verí Nou, ensuring the close collaboration between both businesses continues seamlessly.
