Mallorca has been shortlisted as one of twelve finalists in the National Destination category at the 2026 Condé Nast Traveler Awards, among the most respected honours in the global travel industry.
In a first for the awards, Condé Nast Traveler Spain has announced the finalists in this category ahead of the opening of the full voting period. The move brings forward one of the most closely watched stages of the annual awards.
Mallorca will compete against A Coruña, Cáceres, the Costa del Sol, Girona, Huesca, Madrid, Navarre, Santander, Seville, Tenerife and Valladolid. The full shortlist, including the hotel categories, will be published in mid-March, when readers will be invited to vote.
The Condé Nast Traveler Awards are decided by the magazine’s readers and recognise excellence across hotels, resorts and destinations in both Spain and internationally. The winners will be announced at a ceremony scheduled for June.
Condé Nast Traveler Spain’s editorial team highlighted Mallorca’s appeal, citing its vibrant capital, rich cultural life, extensive historical heritage and high-quality gastronomy, which, the magazine said, make the island a year-round destination.
