Dear Sir,
I am not sure if this is relevant but it is to me. There seem to be lots of complaints about the affordable property for local people in Palma, but elsewhere on the island corruption is rife and our communities are being ruined.
In Paguera, for example, swathes and swathes of woodland have been decimated, no sign of a "permiso de obra". The infrastructure is in place, car parking for disabled included and then nothing.
However, it would appear that there are several five storey complexes to be built with properties starting at €1.5m.
Where is the affordable housing here, where is the consultation, what will be the impact on our village let alone the environment? So much for the Balearics working to improve the impact on our environment.
I also noticed this week that a piece of land owned by the council adjacent to a property that I was interested in some years ago, has just been put on the market. I was reliably informed that this land was classified and was unable to be built on. Interesting, when will it all stop the corruption, the greed at the cost of our communities, our environment, and our children’s futures?
You probably will not worry with this but needed to get it off my chest.
