Dear Sir,
In my opinion oranges from the Soller region are the best I have ever tasted anywhere in the world. But why oh why is it so difficult to find them? I know of only one grower who still goes to the Pollensa market and has done for at least 30 years. But surely they must be available in some shops in the Pollensa/Alcudia region.
A large new shop in Pollensa specialises in Majorcan fruit and veg. Where do their oranges come from? Valencia?
A Google search in both Spanish and English reveals very little and even the "Fetasoller" website has none for sale but offers a pre-order for the October crop. A friend of mine lives in Son Marroix and tells me that he cannot find a stockist either.
Is the production so small or do they need to do a bit more marketing? Maybe one of your three Solleric contributors to the Bulletin can solve this conundrum.
