THE United Kingdom will never be the same again whatever the outcome of this morning´s referendum. I will be giving away all my Annie Lennox CDs, I will be supporting two tennis stars;Rafa Nadal and whoever is playing Andy Murray and my cherished collection of all the James Bond movies will be smaller now starting with George Lazenby rather than Sean Connery. I now support three teams, Chelsea, England and whoever is playing Scotland and I promise to never eat a deep fried Mars bar ever again. I am even seriously contemplating not having coffee anymore with our illustrious Real Mallorca pundit Monro Bryce since he came out supporting the Yes camp (only joking Monro, coffee with you is always a pleasure). But at the end of the day Annie Lennox is still a great musician, Sean Connery was a great James Bond and Andy Murray did win Wimbledon for Britain and Monro will always be my mate. So whatever the outcome today the personal bond which exists between the English and Scots will continue. I sincerely hope that the No camp does win today because I am having coffee with Monro and I would like to remind him that his country has just voted to remain English (!) and I would dread a Yes vote because I will be rewarded with every famous line from Braveheart and will be met by a man wearing a Real Mallorca shirt singing Flower of Scotland. But the 300 year bond will remain whatever happens. Scotland and England may not see eye-to-eye on many things but we share plenty of common feelings and opinions. And that shouldn´t be forgotten.
