Dear Sir,
Ray Fleming overstates his case for global warming. In Looking Around last Sunday he claims that the great majority of scientists are persuaded of the existence of climate change and that it is caused by human activity. If he had inserted the word partially before the word caused few would disagree.
As is he implies global warming is completely down to us humans.
The latest period of global warming in the UK (and there have been numerous) started 14000 years ago when the Arctic ice cap had reached Manchester and started to retreat. It still is. I don't think we can blame cave men for starting it off this latest phase.
