EUROPE has returned to dog the British coalition government again with calls for a referendum on European Union membership. If Britain abandons the European Union, life will be much harder for us Britons living in Europe. Work permits will be re-introduced, the process of gaining a residence card will be far more difficult, no more discount public transport and no vote in local or European elections. And that is just the start of it. If you want to live in Europe, being a member of the European Union is almost vital.
A group of Conservative MPs look set to call for a referendum on the subject and I ask that the majority of British people, just might say No. Why? Because British governments have failed to press home to the Great British public the merits of being a member of the European club. What is the future for Britain if it is not a member of the European Union? This is the question I would like answered. Unfortunately the majority of eurosceptics MPs don´t know the answer.
