Dear Sir,
I’ve visited Majorca many times every year since 18 years of age (I’m now 63).
This year I visited 3 times and I’ve just returned from 2 weeks spent in Palma and Deya and of course I read the Bulletin every day.
Could I comment on some of the issues raised during my stay....
1. The Anglican Church Puerto Pollensa
The letter from Roy Greenwood I found very upsetting. The congregation are so lovely. They make you so welcome. I take communion there 2-3 times a year and I feel that the situation that has developed is so upsetting for all concerned and my prayers are with everyone.
l 2. Car Hire
I hire a car every time I visit. I cannot stand queuing at the airport. I cannot stand being ripped off paying for a full tank of petrol and bringing it back empty....give me a break! Also having to take out “compulsory” insurance. I have annual car hire insurance for £49 a year.
l 3. Winter Tourism
This has been an ongoing situation for years. I believe it has got worse in that the obvious attractions of Majorca in the Winter are not being promoted as they should be.
The Internet is the crux to most Travel Industry motivation for customer bookings so I agree with your recent report......and it costs very little to promote but takes a mindset.
I love Majorca year round. I love reading about Majorca in the major UK press and magazines. Come on
Tourist Office....get communicating with the movers and shakers.
