WITH regard to Viewpoint' in the Sunday / Monday Daily Bulletin, just a few comments on behalf of Europeos por España who have been fighting the issue of the return of our Residencia cards, here in the Baleares, in Brussels and in Madrid.
Our Honorary President, Kate Mentink, has lobbied for over a year and managed to obtain the full support of both the Partido Popular President Josè Ramon Bauza, our Euro MP Rosa Estaras and the PP in Madrid to get the green certificate binned. Our petition in this respect was presented to the National Government Delegate here in the Baleares, Sr. Ramon Socias.
This contained literally thousands of signatures and was forwarded to the relevant Ministry in Madrid. The answer we eventually received was no change contemplated.
Naturally our online petition allied to the petition continues apace on the Europeos por España website - www.epore.org.
Thanks once again to you, Jason and the Bulletin, for again picking up the cudgel on our behalf. This vital support means that more and more non-Spanish Europeans are aware that we are fighting for them and joining our ranks.
This is not the only fight we have to hand that cannot be solved in our town halls. The right to vote in the elections for Consell and the Balearic Parliament are also high on our list of priorities and in this respect, thanks to Kate we are making excellent progress.
