DEAR SIR
I read in Tuesday's Daily B that the undersea electricity cable linking the mainland with the Baleares at the end of this year will make a saving of 30 to 35 million euros. It is probably naive to hope that some of this is passed onto the consumer us.
Another plus which will please our Green Planet Disciples is that carbon emissions will drop by 10%.
Unfortunately the search for Green Bars & Restaurants has driven smokers out onto the street and as a consequence has led to a boom in the use of outside space heaters to warm the cold air on the terraces endlessly!
The increased carbon footprint will probably exceed the drop expected by Ramon Granadino director of Red Electrica.
Life can be perverse - in searching perfection what you win on the roundabouts you may lose on the swings.
