Dear Sir,
I am constantly reading articles about the popularity of Majorca and the need to encourage people to holiday there. The visitors who know Majorca realise what a beautiful island it is and, like me, will always return year after year. However, I believe there are things that can be done to improve resorts and Puerto Pollensa is a good example. Since our son had an accident we notice the bad accessibility for pushchairs and wheelchairs. I know that the pedestrianised area is ideal but in the other areas the pavements are a complete nightmare. Do other people notice the lack of accessible kerbs to assist people pushing a wheelchair to cross the roads? Sometimes there is a dropped kerb close to a pedestrian crossing and the other side is a 5 inch kerb.
The shoppers are keen to display their goods, and hence take up most of the pavement area.
We have noticed that it is not only ourselves that struggle and with a bit of thought it could be made much more friendly . PS. Can't wait to return in June despite my comments!
Sally Schofield.
