Dear Sir,
As tourists who come to your island year after year we are very disappointed at this tourist tax! I think that an island which depends on tourists will find that the number of visitors will drop. Is it not enough that tourists come and spend money without taxing them as well! I think that the 'powers that be' should think again! We live on an island dependent on the tourist trade also and I'm sure that we would find a drop in numbers if a tax was imposed here! You should be encouraging folk to come, not putting them off. We come to Majorca but as we live in Scotland we have to pay a large flight supplement and another tax is going too far!!
Food for Thought
Dear Sir,
Joe Raff needs to look more carefully. With a little thought, I can place at least 4 Chinese restaurants in the Port, plus an imminent Japanese, a Donar Kebab shop and a new Tex Mex. Unfortunately, he must shortly welcome or not a big or little mac with the opening of Burger King, adjacent to the much reduced Motors Formentor. And is it true that the old Globespan office nearby will shortly reopen as an Amusement Arcade? Perhaps the Curtis family have a point !!!!
