Munar: stop day dreaming

Dear Sir, ref the article in Wednesday, 24th paper.
Surely this cannot be true that the Insular Council of Mallorca believes that they could build a railway line between Palma and Paguera. Obviously their engineers have not been in the area for some time and seen the slow progress of the “boulevard” going from Illetas/Portals Nous/Son Caliu/Palma Nova/Magaluf/Santa Ponsa towards Paguera, with inbetween “bits” not even completed.

Their optimism or dreams are mind blowing, or are they planning for for the next century. It's rather like going to Mars before landing on the Moon.
But then I suppose contemplating is not putting in motion. Funded by? Calvia? Don't even dare ask how much is owed on the incomplete boulevard.
Then today, Thursday, we hear that the Chief Minister of the Baleares (Mr Antich) wants samples of the sea-water taken before and after the next American nuclear warship comes into the Bay. He even asks why, for what purpose are they coming here?

Answer: the huge sum of money they spend here on supplies and resting crew.
A word of advice, Doña Maria Antonia Munar, stop day-dreaming.
In your ambitions, practicality is what people need now. A modern bus service: fast, on-time, efficiency its policy, serving between Palma and the west. Cut out the political wrangling between bus company owners.

The people need to get to work, school, and tourists with good bus service will travel.
Talking about school and education, our children are SUFFERING from LACK OF FUNDS towards the education system. Many over the last two years have left college because there is a failure in the teaching system here.

Five-party coalition, if you ever read the Bulletin, you need more contact with one another if you ever hope to achieve the people's trust.

Flabbergasted
