Dear Sir, having just returned from Mallorca with all the problems with taxis at the airport, I would just like to advise you of the experience my wife and I had on arrival on Saturday evening 3rd June. We waited for not too long before getting a taxi to our apartment in Portals Nous.
After unpacking, my wife found that she had left her handbag somewhere between arrival on the aircraft and arriving in our apartment.
After phoning the airport and Guardia Civil we cancelled the credit cards with a call to England and waited for Sunday to go back to the airport to see if the bag had turned up. We were advised that the left luggage was closed until Monday, so we didn't go.
At lunchtime our neighbours called down to ask if we had lost a handbag, and the taxi driver, who lives in Arenal had found it in his car that morning and took the trouble to come and find the owner. In the bag there were credit cards, cheque book and cash, all which was returned intact.
What a feeling of relief and also to think that there are still very honest people around.
I can't help wondering what the outcome would have been in my own Country! My thanks to the Mallorcan taxis, I find them clean, efficient and reasonable in cost.
