First impressions count

Dear Sir, having just spent 2 weeks on Majorca I brought home Saturday's Bulletin and read it at the airport due to big delays and in the letters page you printed a letter about shop keepers in Palma Nova [Sat,17/6/00 ] being abusive to customers. Well people should do what me and my friends and family do. We always buy a lot of perfume and aftershave on our holidays we spend about £200 each family at the start of our holidays we start looking round the shops at the prices and to see how helpfull the shopkeeper is.

We went into a perfume shop in Palma Nova and was looking round when we was sprung upon by the assistant who when we said we were just looking then said that none of us could try the testers in the store so we left.

Next day we were in Magaluf and looked in another store where the lady was so kind and helpfull she let us try any we wanted even the children in our group was allowed to use the testers suffice to say the Friday before we left the island that lady shop got almost £700 worth of sales off our large group.

First impressions do count the shop was down the hill from the all you can eat chinese buffet where the man does the great spray painting on the corner the shop is a credit to the resort and the island sorry i dont know the name of it.

PS thanks for 2 great weeks holiday on your island.
