They spent in excess of one billion euros

South Korean boom.

Mallorca luxury hotels are reporting a surge in bookings from South Koreans tourists. The increase is so pronounced that even Mallorca hoteliers are slightly baffled.

One Calvia hotelier said this week that over the Easter period they have a large number of reservations from Seoul. But it is not that surprising really because Spain is the top European country for South Korean tourists.

Almost 500,000 South Korean tourists visited Spain in 2025 and a similar number of even higher is expected this year. These tourists stay an average of eight days, often visiting Catalonia, and are known for high daily spending, with total expenditures reaching roughly 1.27 billion euros in 2023.

Spain also enjoys fantastic reviews from South Korean tourists who say that it is their number 1 holiday destination with a satisfaction level higher than Switzerland, which is also a popular destination.

There are no direct flights between Spain and South Korean and most of the tourists are on Spanish tours. However, it appears that the island is gaining in popularity.
