Around 150 people were evacuated from the Hotel Rey Don Jaime in Santa Ponsa on Thursday night after part of the dining room floor collapsed.
The incident occurred around 9.30pm. Guests were having dinner when, for reasons under investigation, the floor gave way at the hotel on the C. Gran Via Puig Major.
Several guests were treated for minor injuries. There are no reports of serious injuries.
Paramedics treated people at the scene. Firefighters from the Calvia fire station, local police and Guardia Civil all also attended the scene.
Calvia Town Hall technicians will be at the hotel on Friday in order to assess the building structure. The Guardia Civil are heading the investigation into what happened. First indications are that the floor gave way because it is old and did not have reinforcing mesh.
