According to the Calvia Town Hall forecasts, 73% of the municipality's hotels will be open at the start of April and therefore for the Easter holidays.
There are 211 establishments in Calvia, 154 of which will be operational. These include rural establishments as well as hotels in the various resorts. Some 61,000 beds will be available, 77% of the total in Calvia, which is Mallorca's largest tourist municipality in terms of hotel accommodation.
The town hall says the early opening of these 154 establishments is only possible if there is prior confirmed demand. On his return from the ITB Berlin tourism fair on Friday, the mayor, Juan Antonio Amengual, said the confidence of the German market had been confirmed in Berlin, a similar confirmation for the UK having been given some months previously.
"This year, Easter falls very early, and the majority of hotels are available and operational. This is very good news for extending the season, but it's even better to demonstrate that we are prepared to do so." He added that complementary services, e.g. restaurants and shops, will also be open.
The Easter hotel opening this year represents a six per cent increase over 2025, when Easter was later in April. Over 28,000 of the available beds at the start of the month will be in four and five-star hotels. The progressive increase in quality of hotels has been recognised by the German organisers of the prestigious LOOP tourism fair.
A business-to-business fair, there will be three components, starting on October 22 and running until November 1 - LOOP Wellbeing, LOOP Leisure Autumn and LOOP MICE Autumn. The fair connects Europe's leading luxury travel designers with top-tier tourism providers. The events will be at the Kimpton Aysla Mallorca Hotel in Santa Ponsa and at the Purobeach Resort Santa Ponsa.
