The Calvia council is helping British hotel group, Mandarin Oriental, to recruit hundreds of staff for their new luxury hotel at Punta Negra on the outskirts of Palmanova. With 105 bedrooms and 25 suites the Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra is expected to open next year.

The hotel is looking for staff in most categories and the Calvia employment office will be helping with the major recruitment drive.

The new hotel marks the first resort property in Europe from the prestigious Mandarin Oriental brand, owner and operator of some of the world’s most luxurious and awarded hotels, resorts and residences.

It stretches over three hectares of cliffs and landscaped gardens which cascade into the Mediterranean, offering unique access to two coves surrounded by crystal clear waters. This magnificent destination with its endless sea views is complemented by contemporary, sustainable architecture by HKS and Estudio Lamela.

Likewise the interiors, from the hands of renowned designer Laura Gonzalez, never cease to amaze with elegant and respectful references to local culture. Private pools, a spa, water sports and fantastic gastronomic choices all combine to make stays as vibrant as they are peaceful.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is a subsidiary of the publicly traded Mandarin Oriental International Limited, which in turn is a subsidiary of Jardine Matheson.
