Two popular beaches in Palma, Ciutat Jardí and Cala Estància, will temporarily be without sunbed and umbrella services as Palma town hall finalises contracts for the upcoming season. While tenders for other beaches, including Cala Major, Can Pere Antoni, and Playa de Palma, have been awarded, concerns over bidder solvency have delayed agreements for these two lots.

The Cala Major contract has been awarded to Beach i Oci, while Marport Sun Beach will manage Can Pere Antoni and Playa de Palma. Regulations prevent any single company from holding more than two lots at once, which restricted Marport Sun Beach from securing additional contracts.

The contracts for Ciutat Jardí and Cala Estància have been left void after the submitted bids were deemed unable to meet the financial and operational requirements, leaving the services temporarily unavailable.

Approved tenders for the other beaches outline extensive facilities. Cala Major will feature 250 sunbeds, 125 umbrellas, and a kiosk, while Can Pere Antoni will have 94 sunbeds and 47 umbrellas. Playa de Palma will host 4,436 sunbeds, 2,218 umbrellas, and two inclusive changing rooms.

For Ciutat Jardí and Cala Estància, plans include sunbeds, umbrellas, kiosks, and accessible areas for those with reduced mobility. Prices for beach service lots range from €45,520 for Cala Estància to €3.52 million for Playa de Palma.
