The celebration of Saint Patrick’s Day, now firmly established in the municipality, will take place next Sunday, 22 March, in Santa Ponsa. The event will offer a full day of activities for both residents and visitors, providing an opportunity to experience Irish tradition in a festive, family-friendly setting.

From 10am, the Gran Via Puig des Galatzo will host a varied programme of entertainment. The area will be decorated with shamrocks and other traditional symbols, creating a distinctly Irish atmosphere along the seafront.

The line-up includes a craft market, a selection of food trucks, and a range of activities for children, such as bouncy castles and face painting. Street parades are scheduled for both the morning and afternoon, while live music performances from midday onwards will be a central feature of the day.

The celebration, held in honour of Ireland’s patron saint, is one of the most anticipated events of the year for the island’s Irish community and is unique to the municipality of Calvia. In recent years, it has also attracted a growing number of participants from other nationalities, drawn by its lively atmosphere and cultural appeal.

Calvia Town Hall has encouraged residents and visitors alike to attend and enjoy the event. The municipality continues to host a diverse calendar of celebrations throughout the spring, reflecting its multicultural population and commitment to combining tradition with a strong festive spirit.
