Sa Rueta, especially aimed at children and families, will take place on Sunday 8 February 2026, from 11am to 2pm. The event will feature more than 33 completely free activities, strategically spread across eight iconic locations in the city centre, turning the streets into a huge open-air themed playground.

In Plaça de Cort, children can enjoy a lively mini disco, face-painting and mask-making workshops, as well as a face-in-hole photo board to capture fun memories. Meanwhile, Carrer de Colom will host the parade “El gran circ clàssic”, with performances at 11.15am, 12.15pm and 1.15pm, ensuring families have several chances to catch the show.

Plaça Major will become a multi-activity hub, offering face-painting workshops, circus performances, aerial acrobatics, eco-friendly hobby horses and a specially designed children’s corner for the youngest visitors. This variety reflects the council’s strategy of providing options for different ages and interests.

Adapted and inclusive spaces

On La Rambla, visitors will find mask-making and face-painting workshops, along with a storytelling area featuring “La Tina convida a volar”, with three sessions at 11am, 11.30am and 12 noon. The activity “El Rei Carnestoltes diu” will round off the morning programme with sessions at 12.30pm, 1pm and 1.30pm.

A key highlight of the 2026 edition is that all performances will include adapted sessions with sign language, ensuring accessibility and inclusion for all children and families, regardless of hearing ability. This initiative strengthens the council’s commitment to equal access to culture and leisure.

The clown area on La Rambla will present “Riurem tots” at three morning timeslots, followed by performances by “Pallasso Sabatot” around midday. There will also be a dedicated magic space with “El llibre màgic”, offering four sessions throughout the morning, alongside an animated runway-style parade.

Activities across the city centre

Carrer de la Riera will host the workshop “Pintam en terra”, encouraging collective artistic creativity among younger participants. Carrer Unió and Plaça del Mercat will feature costumed characters, the iconic Drac de na Coca, another “Pintam en terra” workshop, and an additional children’s corner.

Plaça del Rei Joan Carles I will host the traditional EMT bus, recycling workshops organised by EMAYA, and live musical entertainment. Performances by “Mel i Sucre” are scheduled for 11am and 11.45am, while “Ara la Fada Canta Grunge” will take place at 12.35pm and 1.20pm, blending contemporary music with a touch of fantasy.

Finally, Passeig del Born will round off the programme with face-painting and mask-making workshops, community games, a circus area and a street parade that will make its way along the promenade at three different times: 11.35am, 12.20pm and 1.05pm. This layout allows families to plan personalised routes based on their interests.
