Mallorca’s largest German Oktoberfest celebration is set to make a comeback in Santa Ponsa this autumn, running from Friday 17 to Sunday 26 October. Organiser Holger Becker confirmed the festival’s return, promising the same winning formula that drew more than 12,000 revellers to its debut in 2023.
Food and drink will once again be provided by island restaurateur Werner Wiedemann, who will serve up Bavarian staples including roasted chicken, pork knuckles and giant pretzels. Hofbräu beer from Munich will flow by the stein, with staff dressed in lederhosen and dirndls tending to guests beneath the blue-and-white canopy of the festival tent.
Where and When
The celebration will be staged at the Santa Ponsa–Son Bugadelles windmill grounds, already familiar as the setting for the German Christmas market. The main tent, with space for around 1,000 guests, will open daily: from 1pm to 11pm on weekdays and from 11am on weekends. Admission will once again be free.
Last year’s launch drew an eclectic crowd of German residents, tourists and locals, with Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp among the high-profile visitors.
The Santa Ponsa festival is not the only Oktoberfest on offer this year. Smaller celebrations are also planned at venues in Playa de Palma and the Country Club Santa Ponsa. Meanwhile, the Son Amar finca, once home to one of Mallorca’s grandest Oktoberfest gatherings, remains closed.
