There were some delays to flights at Palma Airport on Sunday partly due to high winds. Early on Sunday, the met agency issued a yellow warning for high winds in the south of Mallorca from 8am to 3pm, with gusts of 70 km/h expected. There had previously only been warnings for the coasts.

The airports authority AENA said there weren't widespread delays and noted that the wind wasn't the only reason for any delays. The Sunday schedule at the airport was heavy - a total of 784 flights.

Balearia cancelled two ferry crossings - the 6pm Alcudia-Ciutadella service and 8pm Ciutadella-Alcudia service on the fast ferry Jaume I. Affected passengers have been sent messages with alternative travel options.

Conditions will still be rough in the north and in Menorca on Monday. The yellow warning for the north/northeast coast of Mallorca is active until 8pm Monday, while there is an amber warning for Menorca from 6am to midnight.
