The presence of a drone in the area near the runways at Palma Airport on Sunday evening caused some flight delays and diversions.

The incident occurred around 7pm and lasted for roughly half an hour. At 7.39pm the air navigation company Enaire announced that operations had restarted but was asking passengers to check airlines' information.

Planes could be seen circling near the airport, Enaire having temporarily suspended all landing and taking-off. By the time that operations restarted, it was confirmed that there was no danger.

There were requests for diversions, and some flights were diverted directly to Ibiza and Menorca airports.
