EasyJet’s cabin crew in Spain have cancelled their planned strike for August after securing a 22% pay rise this year. The agreement between unions USO and SITCPLA and the airline comes ahead of the busy mid-August holiday period, when airports face heavy passenger volumes.

The salary increase forms part of EasyJet Spain’s third cabin crew collective agreement and will apply retroactively from 1 March 2025 until the end of August 2028. The deal includes further rises of 2.5% in 2026 and 4% in the third year, moving Spanish pay closer to that of colleagues in other European countries.

The breakthrough follows three days of industrial action in late June.

A new seniority scale has also been introduced, adding between 3% and 15% to basic pay depending on years of service. Sector pay will climb by 5% over three years, boosting linked payments such as holiday entitlements and other allowances.

Permanent seasonal staff will benefit from a 1,050€ payment at the end of their working period. The breakthrough follows three days of industrial action in late June, which forced the airline to cancel over 260 flights in Spain.

USO’s EasyJet leader Pier Luigi Copello said the settlement did not yet match European pay levels but marked “a significant step” towards the parity crews have long demanded.
