Holiday bookings to the Balearics are down 2.8% in the last week compared to the same period in 2022, while they are up 0.2% compared to last week and 149.8% in two years, according to the TravelgateX platform.
The Balearics, after Catalonia, Andalusia and the Canary Islands, is the fourth most popular destination in Spain with a 14.1% share of the total booking volume in the week from 8 to 15 May.
According to the data for the last week, 19.2 % of the bookings were made two months in advance and 19.1 % for more than three months, and 46.8 % of the trips were booked for periods between 2 and 5 days.
Of all bookings registered in the last few days in Spain, 45.2% were made by couples and 12.3% by families.
Among the main nationalities that have made bookings, Spaniards (66.8 %) are in first place, followed by the British (11 %), the Germans (2.4 %), the French (2.3 %) and Italians (2.2 %).
