The Mallorcan Hotel Business Federation (FEHM) extends its warmest welcome to all members and participants of the ABTA convention in Calvia. It is an honour for us to host on our island representatives of a globally recognised organisation in the tourism sector, as well as professionals whose experience and leadership contribute to strengthening the travel industry.

For decades, Mallorca has maintained a strong, close, and successful relationship with the British market. Generations of UK tourists have chosen our island as their holiday destination, and they continue to do so today with complete confidence. This long-standing connection is built on the professionalism of our hoteliers, the quality of our tourism infrastructure, constant innovation, and the defining hospitality of our destination.

FEHM, Spain’s largest hotel association, represents 872 establishments with over 202,000 tourist beds of diverse types and categories. We account for 15% of the national hotel industry and have been working for five decades to keep Mallorca at the forefront of international tourism. Our mission is clear: to solidify the island as a leading destination, capable of responding to new market demands, innovating in services and experiences, and moving toward a more sustainable and responsible model.

Currently, sustainability is at the core of our strategy. We are committed to balanced tourism growth that ensures the well-being of residents while simultaneously guaranteeing visitor satisfaction. Economic, social, and environmental sustainability guides our decisions and defines the roadmap for Mallorca’s hotel industry. Other fundamental priorities include digitalisation, service innovation, talent promotion and retention, and corporate social responsibility.

Without a doubt, tourism is a driver of prosperity and one of the activities with the greatest future potential. Travel has established itself as an essential and accessible experience, and our challenge is to consistently offer high-quality, safe, reliable, and attractive destinations. In Mallorca, we understand that our ability to maintain a leading position is dependent on working with everyone in the value chain: tour operators, travel agencies, airlines, institutions, and the wider community.

This ABTA conference is the perfect framework for us to move in that direction. It’s a unique opportunity to strengthen alliances, share best practices, identify new trends, and establish lines of collaboration that will shape the future of tourism. We see this as a chance to renew our pledge to British operators, explore new ways to collaborate, and underscore Mallorca’s position as a reliable and competitive strategic partner in the Mediterranean.

We trust that this conference will be both inspiring and productive for everyone. We wish you a wonderful stay on our island and reaffirm FEHM’s full commitment to working together for the benefit of this great industry, of which we are so incredibly proud.
